We will promote safety, trust, integrity, equality, recognition, and mutual respect. We shall continue to ensure a stable work environment for our employees by matching the skills and expertise of our workforce to the needs of the Coast Guard. We shall provide and efficiently manage the infrastructure to ensure our employees and tenants have the best possible tools and facilities. United States Coast Guard Boot Camp Training is in Cape May, NJ. It last for 8-13 weeks. Specialty training last from 10-20 weeks. Training is ongoing. Pay consist of basic pay, basic allowance (housing and subsistence or meals). Incentive pay or hazard duty pay or miscellaneous pay and allowances. Pay is determined by rank and total years of creditable service. $ TRAINING The work environment depends of the specialty of the coastie. They may be stationed on a cutter on the sea, small boat in large lakes or inside as a technician of some sort. There are many different specialties that can take them inside, on the water or in the air. Work Environment Opportunities should be excellent for qualified individuals in all branches of the Armed Forces through 2020. Many military personnel retire with a pension after 20 years of service, while they still are young enough to start a new career.
