Dentistry through the years Heinrich Hertz is a German physicist who is widely known for being one of the first scientists to broadcast and receive electromagnetic waves. He invented radiation which dentists commonly use on a daily basis to take x-rays of people's teeth to determine the problems in their mouths. Who invented radiation? Dr. G. V. Black, the father of american dentistry, researched microscopic tooth anatomy which developed theories of cavity preparation. This became the standard restoration for over 100 years he was known for his versatility and contributions to both medicine and dentistry Lucy Hobbs Taylor Horace Wells fought over the discovery of Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide with William T.G. Morton but eventually published to be the true discoverer. Horace wells began to experiment with Nitrous Oxide on his patients to prevent pain while he extracted teeth. Who Invented Laughing Gas Hesy-Ra is known as the "Chief of Dentists and Doctors", in 2650 B.C., he dealt with Egypt's rather advanced medical pursuits. First Dentist Who’s grand old man of Dentistry Applied to the Ohio school of dentistry in 1861 she was denied attendance because of her gender.she moved to Iowa in 1862 and opened her own dentistry practice despite not having a diploma. eventually gaining acceptance as a dentist, and serving at the ADA convention in 1865 after that The Ohio College of Dentistry allowed Hobbs to enroll and In 1866 she received her diploma as the first female in the world to receive a doctorate in dentistry. Tooth extraction keys were named because of their resemblance to door keys. “My worries include the greed of dentists to make the most money and not treat the profession with respect.” (General dentist) Dentists are’t sure what to expect from the future of dentistry.
