The Right View is when we abandon hope and fear and take joy in a simple straight-forward approach to life. We work with what is.
Our intentions are pure. "Samma-Sankappa" — Perfect Emotion "Samma-Vaca"— Perfected or whole Speech.
Clear, truthful, uplifting and non-harmful communication. We say what needs to be said, very simply in a genuine way. We practice simplicity.
We have a simple straight-forward relationship with our lunch, our homework, our bedrooms at home and our family. "Samma-Kammanta" — non-exploitation of oneself and others. "Samma-Samadhi — Full, Integral or Holistic Samadhi. "Samma-Vayama" — Conscious evolution. "Samma-Sati" — Complete Awareness "Samma-Ajiva" The basis of an Ideal society. Our minds are completely captivated by all sorts of entertainment and speculations.
Right absorption means that we are completely absorbed in nowness, in things as they are. This can only happen if we have some sort of discipline, such as sitting meditation. It is only natural and right that we should earn our living. For Middle School kids...our job is : SCHOOL
Often, many of us don't particularly enjoy school.
We can't wait to get home from school and shake our fist at the amount of time that our work takes away from our enjoyment of the good life.
Perhaps, we might wish we had a more glamorous life, that school was more "fun".
Wrong effort is struggle.
We often approach a spiritual discipline as though we need to conquer our evil side and promote our good side. This step asks of us for total Awareness of:
oneself and other people around us
our feelings and the feelings of others
our reality and the Reality of others.
We need to be mindful of the tiniest details of our experience. Retail Options RIGHT INTENTION RIGHT SPEECH RIGHT ACTION RIGHT LIVELIHOOD RIGHT EFFORT RIGHT MINDFULNESS RIGHT MEDITATION We need to always observe
the right way to VIEW
THE WORLD around us. The "Wrong view" occurs when we insert our inflated expectations into our lives;
these are the expectations about how we HOPE things will be or
or how our expectations create anxiety as we worry about how things might be. Right view occurs when we see things simply, as they are. abandon our expectations, abandon our hopes and abandon our fears. If successful, we no longer need to be manipulative. We won't have to try to mold or shape social/academic/athletic situations into our preconceived notions of how they should be. Once our intentions are pure, we no longer have to be embarrassed about our speech, or anxious about "saying the wrong thing" Since we now have the right intentions...we aren't trying to manipulate people anymore. We don't have to be hesitant about what we say, nor do we need to try to fake our way through a conversation with any sort of phoney confidence and self doubt. We need to find a way to give up our tendency to complicate issues. We give up all the unnecessary and frivolous complications that we tend to cloud these aspects of our lives with. The truth is, that we should be glad of our job, whatever it is.
We should form a simple relationship with it.
We need to perform it properly, with attention to detail. We are locked in combat with ourselves and try to obliterate the tiniest negative tendency.
Right effort doesn't involve struggle at all. When we see things as they are, we can work with them, gently and without any kind of aggression whatsoever. Rams Head Dining Hall

a Meal Plan We are mindful of the way we talk, the way we perform our schoolwork - be it a test, quiz, homework assignment. We need to be mindful of our posture. We need to be mindful of our attitude toward our friends and family....every detail of every day. Samadhi literally means to be fixed, absorbed in or established at one point, thus the first level of meaning is concentration when the mind is fixed on a single object. Buddhism is a state where wisdom comes from quiet meditation, from the mountains, from the wind , and the trees, from the rivers and the vast open spaces where a person can truly contemplate the scope and meaning of their lives.
