The Grand Canyon As it says in the name the Grand Canyon is a canyon.
No one knows for sure how The Grand Canyon was formed but the most popular theory is that it was weathered away by water and ice, like the natural flow of the Colorado River and various glaciers What is it and How was it Made? The Grand Canyon is located in Northwest Arizona. The Grand Canyon has large walls made of different types of rock in various shades of warm colors. The rock is layered with different types of rock and different colors. Where is it Located and What does it Look Like? How do People Interact with it? The Grand Canyon is a very popular tourism spot because of immense beauty and size. It is so popular that there are hotels, shuttle buses, campgrounds, dedicated specifically to going to or staying at the Grand Canyon Himalayan Mountains Again as it says in the name the Himalayan Mountains are mountains. They were formed by two of earths tectonic plates colliding and folding against each other. What is it and How was it Formed? The mountains go through Himalaya,
Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet and India. The mountains are giant jagged looking pieces of stone covered in snow. The highest point of them in 26,000 feet high. Where is it Located and What does it Look Like? How do People Interact with it? People often visit the Himalayan Mountains for vacation by visiting resorts and other such attractions built there by humans. Several places in Himalayas hold religious significance in Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, and Buddhism. Many Tibetan Buddhist sites are in the Himalayan Mountains including the residence of the Dalai Lama. While they unify people they also create a physical barrier between India’s subcontinent and China and Mongolia causing different languages and customs. They have also delayed trade routes and have stopped military expeditions The Cliffs of Dover The Cliffs of Dover again as said in the name is a cliff.
When what is now Northwestern Europe was underwater the shells of tiny organisms gradually layered atop one another and compressed to form into a layer of chalk several hundred yards thick. When the sea level fell due to successive ice ages the Cliffs of Dover stayed in its current position above sea level. What is it and How was it Made? The Cliffs of Dover are located in Southeast England. The Cliffs of Dover are giant white walls that reach up to 350 feet high, and are covered with grass on the top. Where is it located and What does it Look Like? They hold a lot of significance to the British because they
face Continental Europe across the narrowest part of the
English Channel where they have been
invaded and where the cliffs have formed a symbolic guard.
