Do mood rings accurately predict our emotions?
variables
The independent variable is the emotion the person posses. The dependent variable is the color the mood ring shows for the different emotion. The controlled variables or constants are they type of mood ring I use, the survey I give the person being surveyed, and my presentation I give them before giving them their survey.
Conclusions
Do mood rings accurately predict our emotions? Yes, mood rings can accurately predict our emotions almost every time. My hypothesis, that mood rings can accurately predict our emotions, was correct. I learned that if you are telling your true emotion that the ring can actually predict your emotion. I could improve this experiment by waiting a longer time before giving them the sheet of paper that asked them the question which would allow them to change their mood and know it. I would also of course test more people.
Abstract
introduction
I chose the topic of mood rings for my science fair project for multiple reasons. First I wanted to test the mood rings ability to read our emotions. Second I wanted to know if mood rings can actually read our emotions based on our body temperatures. The third reason is that I wanted to know how a mood ring works and what it is made out of. Fourth I wanted to find out if I would come out with the answer to be true, that mood rings do predict our emotions, or if they can’t and why. Also as a kid I was always given mixed answers whenever I asked if they worked or not, so I would like to be able to tell someone my results instead of telling them an answer I don’t know is actually true.

Procedure
To test this experiment I created the speeches and surveys for the participants. Next I gave the test subject the mood ring to wear. Finally, I recorded how they actually felt and what the mood ring predicted.
hypothesis
Based on my research, my hypothesis is that the mood rings can accurately predict our emotions.

My experiment tested the accuracy of mood rings. My hypothesis is that the mood rings can accurately predict our emotions. The independent variable was the emotion the person possessed. The dependent variable was the color the mood ring shows for the different emotion. The controlled variables or constants were the type of mood ring I use, the survey I gave the person being surveyed, and my presentation I gave them before giving them their survey. To test this experiment I created the speeches and surveys for the participants. Next I gave the test subject the mood ring to wear. Finally, I recorded how they actually felt and what the mood ring predicted. My hypothesis was correct according to the 80% whose emotions were predicted correctly. The independent variable was the emotion the person possessed. The dependent variable was the color the mood ring shows for the different emotion. The controlled variables or constants were the type of mood ring I used, the survey I gave the person, and my presentation I gave them before giving them their survey. I learned that, if you are telling your true emotion that the ring can actually predict your emotion.
results
After testing the mood rings only two out of eight people’s moods did not match the mood rings. The other six people’s moods matched the mood ring’s emotions. This means that for 80% of the people tested, the mood ring actually worked. The only two that didn’t work were both boys.
