What is CAREER ASSESSMENT?
Career assessments are tools that are designed to help individuals understand how a variety of personal attributes (i.e., interests, values, preferences, motivations, aptitudes and skills), impact their potential success and satisfaction with different career options and work environments.

This is an inventory / checklist of occupational interests which provides an assessment on inclinations / preferences for comprehensive career guidance.
The students are provided with a profile chart of their occupational inclinations and preferences thru the identified cluster occupations.
Use lead pencil in answering the test.
Select your answer from the given choices and blacken the circle that corresponds to your Answer in the appropriate item number on your Answer Sheet.
Remember to keep your Answer Sheets clean and free from unnecessary marks. DO NOT fold, crumple, or crease any portion of it, otherwise it may be rejected by the scanning machine.
You may change your answer by erasing it neatly. Liquid and tape erasers are NOT allowed.
You will answer two Test Booklets: TB1 with red cover for the NCAE Core areas and TB2 with blue cover for the NCAE Tracks and Technical –Vocational Aptitude. Half of the class will answer TB1 first and the other half, TB2.
You are not allowed to leave the room once the test has started.
Do not open your Test Booklets until you are told to do so.

What are the domains measured in the NCAE?
To foster the highest quality of education in the Philippines by regulating and monitoring the flow of students to post secondary institutions of learning and their potential contribution to national development
To minimize indiscriminate wastage of manpower and resources by working for a match between manpower skill outputs and job market demands
Why was NCAE developed?
The total time for the test will be 7 hours and 30 mins. You will be given a 10-minute break in the morning, a 1-hour lunch break and a 10-minute break in the afternoon.
Work fast enough so you will finish the test within a given time. If you finish the test ahead of time, review your answers.
The examiner will announce when the given time to finish the test is up. When he/she say STOP, put your pencils down.
Work quietly and mind only your own work. Do not use books, dictionaries, rulers, calculators, cell phones, and other electronic devices inside the testing room.
Refrain from cheating. If you are caught cheating and have been warned twice, but persist on cheating, you will not be allowed to take the test any further.
You may choose any subtest that you prefer to answer first. You don’t necessarily have to follow the sequence of subtest in the board work.
You are expected to answer all items and follow the time allocation per subtest.
The NCAE intends to provide information that will help high school students make wise career decisions based on the results of the domains of the test.
It also provides an interest inventory that will show the inclinations of the students in a particular occupational field.
The test results will validate the previously thought career choice by showing the student’s strengths and weaknesses in the aforementioned domains.
How will the NCAE guide high school students and their parents in determining the career track they should take?
Reporting of results for HUMSS, STEM and ABM will be in Standard Score and Percentile Rank.
Likewise, the TVA score is the composite of the CA and VMS scores.
OIISSS: The level of preference for each area of occupational interest is displayed based on percentage score which is as follows: high (76-100), moderate (51-75), low (26-50) and very low (0-25)
Examinees can gauge their individual strengths and weaknesses in every domain/area measured based on the test results.
COR = Certificate of Rating
The COR contains the report on how the examinees performed in the test which is presented in a graph alongside the Standard Scores and Percentile Ranks.
The descriptive rating of the Percentile Rank is also included.
The overall GSA and TVA scores are reported along with scores in the sub-tests.
The GSA score is the average of the standard scores in these areas: SA, RC, VA, MA and LRA.
What information is derived from the NCAE COR?
To assess the skills of Grade 9 students planning to proceed to senior HS, toward providing relevant information on their skills, abilities and readiness for academic and non-academic courses;
To provide information that will help high school students make wise career decision; and
What are the specific objectives of the NCAE?
NCAE = National Career Assessment Examination
It is an aptitude test geared toward providing information through test results for self-assessment, career awareness and career guidance of junior high school students of the K to 12 Basic Education Program (BEP).
Test-taking is mandatory.Test results are recommendatory.
For K to 12 Program: career guidance for choosing the tracks in Senior High School
The results of the NCAE should NOT be used for other purposes other than career guidance.
What is NCAE?
If you have any problem such as missing pages or words that are not printed clearly, raise your hand so the examiner can help you.
Questions on the directions or on any test item will not be entertained after the test has started.
Do not write anything on the Test Booklet. Each will be provided with two double-sided (back-to-back) answer sheets having similar Examinee Number. When answering the Mathematical Ability test, you may use a clean sheet of paper for your computation but submit this to me after the test.
All enrolled Grade 9 students in public and private high schools operating with permit
