Orangutans live up in trees with branches to swing to and from. In forks of trees high off the ground orangutans bend branches down to form comfortable mattreses of leaves and twigs. They sometimes add a roof built from more branches so that if it rains they will
Males grow up to 136cm and 75kg while females grow up to 37kg and 115cm
Live up to 50 years
Have 1 or 2 babies at a time every 5 to 10 years
Babies stay with their mothers for at least 7 years.
Their mothers carry them around during the day
They do not usually have any other playmates
orangutans are the larges aboreal mammal meaning they spend most of their time in trees. There are species of OrangutanBornean and Sumatran . They differ a little in looks and how they behave. Bornean Orangutans are more likely to come down from the trees.
