Causes
Genetic and environmental factors are usually causes, and social and cultural factors may increase the risk for having BPD. They are unsure of the certain genes that cause BPD, but they are studying further into it.

Marilyn Monroe grew up in and out of foster care, her mother suffered from mental illnesses and was unable to take care of Marilyn. She was moody as a child and often overreacted to situations. She lived in a fantasy when she was younger and often lied about her biological family. As an adult Marilyn was constantly picked bad men to form relationships with and as a result had three failed marriages. Marilyn Monroe died when she was 36 and her death is suspected to be a suicide.
