Macbeth Differentiated Assignment
Transcript of Macbeth Differentiated Assignment
& Kaylah Ayow "I just can't wait
to be king" "Be Prepared" In this song, it relates to Macbeth because they say "I want it all and I want it now" That strongly connects to when Lady Macbeth is saying that the thane of cawdor isn't enough so when the three witches presented Macbeth with his three prophecies, one of them is to become King. Now, Lady Macbeth thinks if Macbeth becomes King, she'll be up there with him and her ambitions become strong and she now wants it all and she is very impatient and aggressive about it, just like it displays in the song. This song from the Lion King relates to Macbeth because in this song, Simba says "Oh I just can't wait to be king." It relates because Macbeth is very ambitious and cannot wait to be king. Because he cannot control his ambition and has influences, he does end up killing King Duncan so he can be the new king. This song is also from The Lion King relates to Macbeth because in the song, Scar says to be prepared for the death of the king and he says that they are going to kill him; and Simba too. This connects to Macbeth when Lady Macbeth is telling Macbeth about her plan to kill King Duncan and how he's going to kill him. "I want it All" by Queen Macbeth Differentiated Assignment
Multi-Media Comparison "Papercut" by Linkin Park In this song, they sing "but I know just what it feels like to have a voice in the back of my head" and "it's like I'm paranoid looking over my back, it's like a whirlwind inside of my head, it's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within, it's like the face inside, it's right beneath my skin." This shows a clear connection to the play because it's showing how Lady Macbeth has a guilty conscience. In the play, it shows when Lady Macbeth is sleep walking and she keeps trying to wash her hands clean from the blood even though the blood is not visible and no longer there, it's still in the back of her mind and that is her guilty conscience talking. The Lion King In the beginning of the play, King Duncan`s death is planned when Macbeth is told by the three witches that he can claim the throne if Duncan passes away before Malcolm is of age. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth plan the murder of King Duncan. After King Duncan is pronounced dead and murdered, his sons flee the area out of fear that they might be next. In The Lion King, Scar (seen as Macbeth) wants to get rid of Mufasa so that he can take over the pride lands and help the hyenas (seen as the three witches) before Simba is of age. He kills Mufasa and manipulates Simba into thinking he killed his father and if he stays, everyone will hate him. Simba listens to Scar and runs away. Duncan`s two sons flee after their fathers death just like Simba does. Macbeth was able to pull the similar trick as Scar did. Lion King continued... At the end of Macbeth, Macduff comes to fight Macbeth. Macbeth thinks he has nothing to worry about because the three witches had told him he cannot be killed by someone not born of women; because Macduff was born by C-section, Macbeth is very over-confident. With Macbeth being over-confident and naive, Malcolm claims the throne. At the end of The Lion King, Simba returns to fight Scar after finding out that it was Scar`s plan all along to get rid of everything in his way of taking over the Pride Land. Scar underestimates Simba and his strength. At the very end, Scar falls off the clif into a bunch of hyenas and dies. Simba claims the throne. Ferris Bueller`s Day Off In the movie Ferris Bueller`s Day Off, it revolves around a high school student who never tells the truth, but is somehow endearing that everyone protects his dishonesty so that he will never have to pay the consequences for his lies. This connects to Macbeth when he murders King Duncan. The only way he can murder King Duncan, is by making sure no one finds out that he committed the murder. By doing so, after he murders King Duncan, Lady Macbeth smears the blood on the grooms to make it look like they were the ones who killed King Duncan, so they do not have to suffer the consequences and Macbeth will get to become King because of it.
