The Bet
I bet you all a million dollars, that no matter how hard you blow, you can't make the ball go into the bottle.
So, what happened?
I won!

1. The motion of objects can be observed and measured. As a basis for understanding
c. Students know the way to change how something is moving is by giving it a push or a pull. The size of the change is related to the strength, or the amount of force, of the push or pull.
d. Students know tools and machines are used to apply pushes and pulls (forces) to make things move.
Materials needed
1 empty and dry bottle
A napkin
Roll a piece of napkin into a tiny pea sized ball
Place empty water bottle on the desk
Place the ball on the mouth of the bottle
Now, BLOW!

What happens?
But, why?
-The bottle is already filled with air
-No room for new air to enter
-Therefore, its blown back out
-This means that the air pressure in front of the ball of paper is lower than behind
Bernoulli Principle
-The key point is that moving air is at a lower pressure than still air.
- Air that is blown towards the mouth is deflected around the the sides of the bottle

What do YOU think will happen if I blow a ball into a empty bottle?
1. What is air pressure?
2. Does air weigh anything?
3. Can we feel air pressure?
1a. Air pressure is the force exerted on you by the weight of the air molecules. (Nitrogen and Oxygen)
2a. Although air molecules are invisible, they still have weight and take up space
3a. No, we are used to it. However, you can notice the change in pressure as you move up in altitude. The air becomes more "thin".
Every day life
*Aerodynamics: Airplane wings are specially shaped so that air travels faster over the top of the wing than over the bottom surface.
-The pressure is lower above than below and the wing is “pushed” upward by the higher pressure air
-Faster the plane is going, faster the lift.
