Charles Dickens' father was arrested for not having enough money

Charles Dickens started working as a young boy to support the family, who was living in the jail.

Got a different job as a law clerk.

Started to pick up an intrest in journiling,
his first step as an writer.

He started writing novels, which got famous.

He met a lady named Catherine and they would go on to have many children
1842
He and Catherine went to America for the first time.

Charles Dickens bought the house that his father showed him as a child.

Starts doing public reading around Great Britan
1863
Rival author and friend William Thackeray dies.
1865
A train crash happened that hurt Charles Dickens in the long run.
