Bilbo, Gandalf, Kili, Fili, Oin, Gloin, Dori, Ori, Nori, Balin, Dwalin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Thorin. Gandalf and the dwarves convince Bilbo
to go an adventure with them to reclaim
the Lonely Mountain from Smaug. The group is almost eaten by giants
while on their way to Rivendell. Gandalf gets there just in time to turn the giants to stone. They make it to Rivendell and stay with Elrond, the elf king, for 2 weeks. They get to the Misty Mountains, but while
staying in a mountain cave, they are captured by goblins. Taken to goblin king. Gandalf kills the king.
They escape through a tunnel. They get lost in the tunnels and they lose Bilbo.
Without his friends, Bilbo takes a wrong path and
meets Gollum. Bilbo beats Gollum in a riddle-off. Bilbo
steals his invisibility ring, Gollum freaks out
and accidentally shows Bilbo to the mountain's exit. Bilbo meets back with his friends. They're attacked by angry goblins and wargs, chased up trees, and almost killed, but eagles fly them to safety. Eagles fly them to the Carrock. They
walk from there to Beorn's home and rest there. Then they depart from Beorn's
and head into Mirkwood. Bombur falls into the Enchanted
River and falls asleep. He later on
wakes up and speaks of an elven feast he dreamed
of. His dream comes true, but every time they tried walking into the feast, it disappeared and relocated. It eventually didn't appear again. The crew is captured by giant spiders, but Bilbo frees them with his invisibility ring. All but Bilbo, still invisible, are kidnapped by Wood-elves and taken to their homeland. Bilbo helps them escape in barrels down the river. They ride the river to Lake-town, rest there, and then leave to The Lonely Mountain. Dwarves Wizard Hobbit Bilbo finds the secret entrance to the mountain
and the group walks through it to find Smaug. Smaug
leaves the mountain through the main entrance and flies to Lake-town. Bard, a Lake-town resident, kills Smaug with a bow and arrow! Word gets out of the death of Smaug. The dwarves of the Iron Hills, goblins, Wood-elves, and the people of Lake-town all travel to The Lonely Mountain to claim some gold. A big war forms over the gold. The Iron Hill dwarves, Wood-elves, the Lake-town people, and the 13 dwarves with Bilbo all team up to kill the goblins. The goblins are defeated. The king of the Iron Hill dwarves becomes king of the mountain. Bilbo and Gandalf make the journey back
home to Hobbiton. The dwarves stayed at The Lonely Mountain. The task has been completed and thus the journey was over. Setting: The setting varied because they were traveling, but the key places were:
