Overall Thoughts
I would definitely use this website as a supplement when reading novels in the classroom.
The "fan-fiction" category allows students to create alternate realities based on fiction. This can easily be used for any book or novel discussed in lessons.
The other categories, such as the nonfiction and opinion, can help develop their academic language as well as convey their thoughts on a certain issue.

How it works!
Grammar bytes is divided into many sections. The sections that would be helpful for a student or for teacher are:

The terms range from abstract, nouns, and verbs.
As seen in the image, all the words can be clicked on to reveal more information.
A detailed explanation with examples will appear. The explanation is usually less than a page which will seem less intimidating to students.
Some words include videos on Youtube to further explain.
Exercises
The interactive exercises can be used by students to gauge their understanding of a concept of grammar after instruction. The exercises can be assigned as homework or even be done as a whole class.

The handouts on the website accompany the interactive activities previously mentioned. This is both good for the teacher and the student. The teachers can print out the exercises and give each student the opportunity to participate in the exercise, even if they do not have a computer.
Presentations
The presentations on grammar bytes are FREE. This can be an excellent tool for teachers to use to supplment their lessons. Each presentation also comes with a handout.
Grammar Bytes on YouTube
The videos on YouTube usually target a certain concept, such as direct object, explain what it is and then give examples. The videos are somewhat long but they can be assigned homework on days where traditional homework exercises are not needed. Afterall, being assigned a YouTube video to watch will definitely get less groans than filing out a worksheet.
Overall Thoughts
Grammar bytes achieves its purpose in educating students on the rules of grammar, but also assists teachers in doing this task as well.
The website is very direct on the homepage with the subheadings being accurately titled.
The website loads quickly and does not have any errors from what I have seen.
With grammar bytes interactive exercises, activities, and handouts for both the students and teachers, this website will definitely be a tool on my belt.

Teen reads is not just a website that contains the teen Ultimate Book list, but it also has many other features that would interest high school students:

On the surface, teenreads.com might just seem like a website for teenagers to go on in their leisure, but it can be used effectively in the classroom setting.
With the extensive amounts of reviews and books listed on the site (many of which are in the curriculum anyway), teachers can utilize teenreads to get their students interested in reading as a long-time habit.
Overall Thoughts
Teenreads.com can be used to create multiple assignments that are student-centered.
An example of an assignment I would use is to have the students pick a review from the website, read the review, and then read the book. The student must then write their own review on the book addressing the first review read.
Having the students see what other students are reading makes the books seem more interesting rather than simply being part of the curriculum.

Teenink.com focuses on the students and their writing.
The website is made up entirely of student written articles, fiction, nonfiction, blogs, forums, and also art work.
The categoris for fiction and nonfiction are practically endless, which allows for more flexibility.
"The Council promotes the development of literacy, the use of language to construct personal and public worlds and to achieve full participation in society, through the learning and teaching of English and the related arts and sciences of language.“
The NTCE website is a terrific tool for English Teachers because it provides a long list of resources to use: lessons, standards, books, furthering education, and current events in the English Education community.

The NTCE website offers additional links, such as readthinkwrite.org to aid teachers when giving lessons.
Userability
The NTCE website is very user friendly for teachers because everything is put into categories that accurately describe the contents of the site.
The NTCE also offers opportunity to continue learning through seminars and online learning.
Overall Thoughts
The NTCE website is a great tool for teachers but is certainly not a tool for students. However, the resources and lesson plans given on the NTCE website can be translated to help students learn through excellent and effective teaching methods. English teachers of all kinds should consult the NTCE website often to continue learning and keep their lessons fresh.
This site asks essential questions:
What is critical thinking?
Why teach it?
How can critical thinking be taught?
What is critical thinking?
Reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do.
Students may often not use critical thinking skills because they do not truly understand what it means to be a critical thinker.
The website is helpful for students because it defines critical thinking and also gives the characteristics of a critical thinker (such as being open-minded).
Strategies
The website gives many helpful tips on how to teach critical thinking. The strategy that is most highly suggested is the Reflection, Reasons, and Alternatives approach.
Urge students to be reflective in their work.
Probe for good reasons on their perspectives.
Focus on the alternatives.
Overall, this is a very useful resource for teachers and their instruction.
Overall Thoughts
Criticalthinking.net is an excellent tool for educators to reference when teaching critical thinking skills. It accurately describes and delivers essential strategies and focal points to teaching critical thinking skills.
Edmodo (Social Media)
Edmodo is a social learning website that mirrors facebook and interactivity.
Students are able to interact with their classmates through an online classroom and participate in discussions through posts on the newsfeed.
Items such as videos and worksheets can be posted but still sustains a social atmosphere through the Facebook-like set-up.
Edmodo is an excellent teaching tool because it allows the students to interact with one another but in an academic way while maintaining the social media atmosphere.
Music and Literature
In this video, the song "Firework" by Katy Perry is used to explain and display figurative language.
This video is great because it goes line by line for the whole song.
The song is relatively new and extremely popular.
This can be in groups or as a class.
The activity at the end can also be applied to any novel.
The only downside is that this example does not actually have audio to the song.
This article examined that the digital divide in Florida schools has a strong correlation to gender, race, and socio-economic-status.
Families in poverty or low incomes home often do not have access to a computer so they are not exposed to the informational communication technologies.
Even though almost all of the schools in Florida have internet access for their students, the digital divide still remains prevelant.
This article brings to light that one cannot assume that all students will understand how to communicate through technology.
