AFRICAN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, NIGERIA
The Waste Management Sector Capacity Building programme was an extremely successful training course for Nigerian waste management professionals at the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja.
Following the success of the initial programme, a further programme is currently being delivered in Nigeria and the UK.
The programme continues to attract participants from the government, non-governmental organisations and businesses.
STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP, SAUDI ARABIA

Delivered in the Gulf States the Strategic Management and Leadership course aimed to share best practice about general management and leadership: accelerating delegates’ management capabilities and examining core people and management skills, team effectiveness and decision making.
The participants included members of the UK Embassy in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf States as well as professionals who had completed postgraduate degrees at UK universities.
The training was designed to help delegates shape and manage business deals, negotiate in uncertain business environments, improve working relationships, add organisational value, manage multiple projects, and resolve disputes.
The knowledge and tools provided were designed to support the management and effectiveness of both private and public sector organisations.
DEVELOPING AND SUSTAINING BEST PRACTICES IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP, ENTERPRISE AND MANAGEMENT IN A UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENT, NIGERIA

This short course, designed for Maiduguri University, Nigeria, was designed to empower participants with appropriate and up-to-date theory and skills, enabling them to effectively strategise and manage a Centre of Entrepreneurship funded by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Skills gained on the course were transferred internally within the University of Maiduguri, empowering and advancing peers.
Participants were keen to explore best practice in the UK to increase capacity building and knowledge transfer.
Delegates visited innovative regional businesses in the UK to gain entrepreneurial insights as part of a wider aim to fight poverty and youth unemployment in Nigerian society.
