The Mona Lisa is a famous painting that was painted by an italian man named Leonardo Da Vinci. The Mona Lisa is one of the best recognized paintings in the world. The reason why the Mona Lisa is so famous is her her mysterious smile. The Mona Lisa was stolen on August 21 1911 on a Monday and nobody knew until the following day. The Mona Lisa was stolen in the early morning before the Lourve was opened for the visitors. The theft stole the Mona Lisa quickly when there were no guards ariund to catch the theft. It was so huge of a problem that boats were even searching for the theft. The muesum Mona Lisa was stolen closed and then re-opened nine days later. By the time the Lourve re-opened the theft was front page in the newspaper worldwide. After that the Mona Lisa was found and returned to the Lourve and the theft was sent to jail for six months. The Mona Lisa was created because the husband of Mona arranged and paided for the painting to be done or Leonardo Da Vinci just painted the picture for no reason at all.
