The United States
and World War I

German Submarine Warfare-
Sinking of the Lusitania
German submarines, called U-Boats, patrolled the Atlantic. They destroyed Allied naval ships AND ships that had supplies.

1915- German U-Boats torpedo the Lusitania.

The Lusitania was a British ship, but 128 Americans on board died.

As America was neutral, Americans became angry.
