Singular Subjects
The big dog runs.
In this sentence the subject is dog and the verb is runs.
As you can see "dog" is singular so the verb "runs" must agree with the subject and be singular.
Basic Rule of Subject Verb Agreement
Subject and verb must agree in #
Both need to be singular or both need to be plural (# game)

Any word that names a person, place, or thing.
Verb ~ Action

A kind of word that usually tells about an action or a state and is the main part of a sentence.
Notice: In standard English, we use -s ending only when subject is singular and third person.
"Yeah, you just come from de church on a Sunday night, but heah you is gone to work on them clothes. You ain't nothing but a hypocrite."
