the largest state and one of the oldest! CULTURE: They are proud of their traditions! You'll catch them in their lederhosen while playing their folk music on special occasions. What's a special occasion you may ask? OKTOBERFEST! Don't know what this is?

It's what the guy at the
beginning was wearing! This state of Germany has the oldest German university, Heidelberg. They're also known for their inventors: Gottlieb Daimler, Carl Benz and Robert Bosch. Every year in January, it hosts a film festival for
hard working German film directors and actors. Niederwalddenkmal is a monument located
in Hesse to symbolize unity in Germany. Cathedral of Magdeburg is the oldest Gothic cathedral in Germany. Lower Saxony The Heideblütenfest is the biggest folk festival in Lüneburg. The highlight of the festival is the Heath Queen Contest. The Cologne carnival a parade attended by a million people every year! Imperial Cathedral of Speyer is the largest Romanesque church!
It has a burial site of 8 German emperors and kings. Culture is thicker in Thuringia. Castles, palaces, gardens and historical monasteries can be found everywhere. (The collection has been building for over 400 years!) Bradenburg surrounds Berlin. Drama, art and music is a big part of Brandenburg's culture. There's over 370 museums in Brandenburg! (Brandenburg, Potsdam - Film Museum) The Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival is a classical music festival held every year in summer time. At the Schlossfestspiele, an opera is performed infront of a castle and lake setting. Like Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has a music festival every summer. French Cathedral at the festival of lights. It is one of the biggest illumination events in the world. Museums and galleries including the State Opera add a colourful scene make Hamburg a pure cultural enjoyment. The bronze sculpture created in 1951 by the artist Gerhard Marcks. A fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm The animals traveled to Bremen
to become musicians. That is it!
