I'm Thankful for Biology He is the first step in our process of energy. As you know, all organisms require energy. Autotrophs, such as this grass, obtain energy directly from the sun and store it in organic compounds called glucose during photosynthesis. So, what in the world is photosynthesis? Photosynthesis is the process by which plants turn energy from the sun into glucose, which they may use as energy This complex step is a biochemical pathway then involves two reactions: the light dependent reaction and the Calvin Cycle. Light Dependent REaction Who's ready for turkey?? Well, before you get to enjoy it, you have to understand how the energy process works... starting with the sun and ending with you... So here we have our Christmas sun. Now after all that mess theres still the Calvin Cycle... So thats how this grass Gets energy to give to this turkey when he eats it But how you ask? Cellular RespiratioN Is bRoken DoWn iNto 3 PARTS: GlyColosis, the KRebs Cycle, and the Electron Transport Chain (ETC) Glycolysis is the first step... Then there is the Krebs Cycle, also known as the Citric Acid Cycle... And lastly the Electron Transport Chain through these many processes is how energy goes from the sun, to the the grass, to your turkey, to you. ENJOY!!
