She was a very independant woman and had 4 husbands (all who she divorced) but had relationships with both men and women
Got into dancing at around 13
She was very famous in France due to living there, but faced a lot of prejudice in the United States.
Baker's acts had a lot of comedy included.
She also served in World War 2 for France- buried with military honors.
