Adolf Hitler wanted to dispose of all Jews because he did not agree with the religion. Effects on Jews After the Holocaust, a lot of Jews suffered from loss of identity. Many committed suicide or self-harm. Many also had to suffer through survivors guilt. After the Holocaust, the Yiddish language declined greatly. The Yiddish Renaissance became a movement to recognize the Yiddish culture. Gestapo The Gestapo was a secret nazi police force. Under Hitler's rule, they would be secretive and capture Jews. They would then return them to concentration camps where they were tortured. Call to Action To prevent future genocide, people need to stay informed. They need to keep in contact with the media and government. People also need to be involved in the community and support relief efforts.
