Imagine was written and performed by the former Beatles member John Lennon. It was released on October 11 1971.
John Lennon wrote the song “Imagine” to pass across a message that encourages the listener(s) to imagine a world where there’s no religious discrimination, nationalities, and social divisions.
Imagine there is no heaven... No hell below us , above us only
In this verse John Lennon wants us to imagine a world where there's no religious discrimination and corruption.
Imagine there's no countries... Nothing to kill or die for and no religion, too.
To imagine a world where we are not Canadians or Americans , only human.
You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you will join us and the world will be as one. 2x
That this 'ideal' world can never come true so he is a dreamer and he knows that there are people like him who dreams of world peace and that someday everyone will have the same dream so it will no longer be a dream but a reality.
Imagine no possessions... No need for greed or hunger.
To also imagine a world where nobody has any material possessions that they call 'theirs' everything belongs to everyone; NO upper, middle and lower class.
Allusion: the allusion of the song is the reference of heaven and hell
