Transcript of EBBE SURFACE BOND DRAIN KIT

Fill holes with E-HHH pellets and squirt with lacquer thinner
After 60 seconds press pellets at or below surface of subfloor
Fill surrounding area with fairly wet mortar until flush with slab
…make sure cavity is completely filled
Cover the pipe and remove excess concrete in area of flange
Mark the concrete around the edge of the flange
Apply lacquer thinner… use enough solution to moisten all beads

Wait 60 seconds then press beads under edge of riser
…this will lock riser in position
Fasten shims with flange in level position
Level drain flange using shims and a level
Install drain flange using silicone or construction adhesive and shims
… if the waterproofing is thick enough, it can be used as an adhesive
Caulk all floor/wall and corner seams up walls 6” min.

Cut pipe flush with concrete
CONCRETE SUBFLOOR INSTALLATION
With 3” I.D. Pipe
Remove pipe, cap and install flange to pipe using ABS cement
… remove enough concrete to allow for new cement.
CONCRETE SUBFLOOR INSTALLATION
With 2” I.D. Pipe

Cut pipe flush with concrete
Wait 60 seconds then press into place at or below flange
…this will create a flat surface for thinset as well as a larger weep field
RISER INSTALLATION
Apply lacquer thinner
… all visible beads should be moistened
RISER INSTALLATION
Square riser to walls
RISER INSTALLATION
Back out 1 quarter turn to allow for thinset
RISER INSTALLATION
Remove clamp and install Ebbe E4400 riser
FABRIC WATERPROOFING INSTALL W/O CLAMP
Cut drain hole at inside of flange
FABRIC WATERPROOFING INSTALL W/O CLAMP
Using the flat side or a trowel, squeegee out excess thinset
FABRIC WATERPROOFING INSTALL W/O CLAMP
Using a 2” putty knife, quickly work the ABS cement into the flange
… 1” wide minimum
FABRIC WATERPROOFING INSTALL W/O CLAMP
Position pre-cut waterproofing fabric
FABRIC WATERPROOFING INSTALL W/O CLAMP
Spread thin set over floor . Apply ¼” bead of ABS Cement to flange
Using the flat side or a trowel, squeegee out excess thinset
FABRIC WATERPROOFING INSTALL USING CLAMP
With clamp securely in place, gather fabric and “Wheat Shock” with tape or string
FABRIC WATERPROOFING INSTALL USING CLAMP
Apply 3/8” bead of flange-to-fabric bonding cement
WATERPROOF MAT INSTALL USING CLAMP
Roll back fabric to expose flange
WATERPROOF MAT INSTALL USING CLAMP
Retain mat in place with tile box or bag mix.
Cut hole to inside edge of flange
WATERPROOFING
WITH FLEECE FACED FABRIC

Compatible with all brands of fleece faced mat
The Mortar Bed
Before mortar bed completely hardens, remove any ridges at the edge of bond flange
Recommended Mortar Bed Mix
Apply liquid surface waterproofing to floor and 6” up walls
Coat Moisture Migration holes
Drill moisture migration holes in corners and 12” apart on perimeter
(using a step drill is recommended)
WOOD SUBFLOOR INSTALLATION
Establish desired drain location. Cut a 6” diameter hole through subfloor… avoid floor joists
Use with surface waterproofing: Accepts all Liquid Applied and Fleece-Faced Mat systems*
Bonds to top surface of mortar bed
Use with bonded mortar beds
Cast in concrete, mount in wood subfloors or bolt to other mfg drains
Simple leveling and riser height adjustment
Adapter Bushings bonds to 2” pipe O.D. or into 3” pipe I.D. ABS & PVC
Bonded Bead matrix weep control (Patent Pending)

*Fleece-faced Mats Require #E-4030 Mat Bond Kit

SURFACE BOND DRAIN KIT

2” or 3” Pipe Connections
RISER INSTALLATION
Bottom Bead Layer

Fill gap ¾ full with bonding beads
(beads will be installed in 2 layers)
RISER INSTALLATION
Screw riser down until it reaches tile height
FABRIC WATERPROOFING INSTALL USING CLAMP
Apply thinset per fabric manufacturer’s recommendation
Cut mat to fit floor following mat manufacturers recommendations
Cut mat to fit floor. Set weight in place to keep from moving.
Without this additive, working time may be only 10 minutes
With additive, time increases to approx. 40 minutes.
Retarder Additive Essential
Cut pipe at proper depth
… 2 5/8 for 2” pipe

Top Layer of beads

Overfill bonding beads above flange
WATERPROOF MAT INSTALL USING CLAMP
Roll fabric back into place. Insert flange clamp, screw in riser
securely onto flange clamp to squeeze ABS cement into flange
Leave 1/4” + opening at bottom of hole
3” I.D. PIPE
2” I.D. PIPE
CONCRETE SUBFLOOR INSTALLATION
Mark straight edge first. Then transfer to walls
Keep straight edge flat across center of flange while marking height.
Formula: Slope Rise (flange O.D. to wall) = Far Corner Distance
(as closest number of 5“ increments ) x 1/10”. Mark same height on all walls.
Recommended slope is 1/10 inch of rise for every 5 inches of run
