Instruments include Electric and Classical Guitar, Piano, Drumes and sometimes more quirky instruments you would not expect such as the Violin.
The guitar gives the genre a a raw feel as seen in Black Sabbath.
The Characteristics depends on the type
The types include Grunge, Indie Rock, gothic rock, Indie Pop, Brit pop.
Grunge has lots of distortion, raw and is un-polished.
Indie Rock is a lot more like the Killers.
Alternative Rock songs usually talk about current political issues. Such as The Kaiser Chiefs, "I Predict a Riot."
Why we like it
We like Alternative Rock because it is very different to normalmainstream music and provides a variety of good music with an array of instruments with a good, hard hitting beat.
