Monday Update 9.16.13
Charity Duck Pluck
We are planning a charity event to raise money to donate to Gabe's Chemo Duck chemoduck.org/, an organization which gives stuffed ducks to kids going through chemo to help soothe them and understand their chemo treatments.
We are ordering rubber ducks to be decorated (by students, clubs and families that attend homecoming) and to be "adopted" by those who donate.
On November 5th, we will hold a duck pluck, during which ducks will be picked from a pond and whomever the duck belongs to will win a prize.
Clubs can participate by taking in donations for the ducks; if a club sells the duck that is chosen, the club will also receive a prize.
We will have more information soon!
Tip #1 Event Planning
If you would like to know which room your event has been assigned to, or whether or not you have received approval on the items you requested in order to publicize or confirm with guests prior to the event, make sure to submit the Event Planning Form prior to two weeks in advance. Three or four weeks will allow 1-2 weeks of publicity time. It takes 2 weeks for our office to process the requests made on an Event Planning Form.
Club Desk
Did you know that the clubs have a desk in the coolest looking office on campus: Student Development? Well, now you do!
"What can we do there?" You ask... "SO MANY THINGS." I reply excitedly.
- Activate your club
- Complete Event Planning and Budget Forms
- Research information about running your club
- Research items to purchase for an event
- Print off flyers

In all of the craziness of the new semester, I may not have had the opportunity to meet you, and I want to take the time to welcome you to the Campus Club Team!
Yes, by participating in a club, you have become a member of an awesome team, and you have a home here on campus! As part of the team, you have many people here to guide you and to collaborate with. LUCKY YOU & LUCKY US! Please always remember that you are better off asking questions and working with others than trying to make a go of it yourself - that is what this team is all about!
I look forward to working with you, your club members and the clubs you partner with this year!
I will be sending out a "MONDAY UPDATE" each week, with helpful information and tips to help you and your club members run your club; so keep an eye out, and read on for helpful information.
BELIEVE IT OR NOT: If your club is planning a large event or any travel involving the use of funds in spring, you should start the planning now!!! Set up a meeting with me to walk through the details with you so you can make sure to be on top of any requirements you may not be aware of.

A little bit about me...
I have been working in the Student Development Office since 2001. When I started, I was working in the Gaucho Lounge, and took the initiative to learn about the Student Development program and was officially offered a position as the advisor to clubs and Inter-Club Council in 2005. Over the past eight years, I have worked with the Student Development team to create the wonderful and well-rounded club program that exists today!
I started my college path right here at Saddleback and graduated with an AA in Psychology. I then transferred to California State University, Fullerton and graduated with a BA in Psychology. And now, I am working on completing my Master's Degree in Counseling at Webster University.

My favorite color is purple.
My favorite musician is ZZ Ward.
I love to sing.
I LOVE MY JOB because I get to work with all of you!
I am looking forward to get to know a little bit about all of you!
