MSL - Measures of Student Learning Constructed-Response Questions All constructed response questions will be graded by a rubric.

The rubric is provided with the stimulus.

Why is the rubric provided? The 1st Question - general or specific question & the answer is found directly in the stimulus

The 2nd Question - make a connection between the different parts of the stimulus

The 3rd Question - requires a response based on the info related to but not included in the stimulus

Why the MSL? Answers are graded based on a rubric How to complete the CR question: Constructed Response Questions The MSL reveal two MAJOR things:
1. What YOU (the student) know!
2. What you are able to do! Constructed response questions break the normal multiple choice routine.
Open-ended questions
No opinion questions
Provided with a stimulus or stimuli
Stimulus may include time lines, maps, graphs, cartoons, charts and short readings.

Will there still be multiple choice questions? Example GENERAL question: How many months pregnant is Mary Maloney?

Two Requirements for Completing the question:
1. ) Answering the question correctly.
2.) Adding the tagline from the question into the student answer. Example GENERAL question: How many months pregnant is Mary Maloney?
