Transcript of David and Jonothan

King Saul was really jealous of David. As one of the women were walking and celebrating to meet King Saul. She was singing "Saul has strucked down thousands, and David his ten thousands. Then Saul got really angry. Micheal got married to David later. Later Saul tried to kill David. Then Jonathan warns David about Saul.
Jonathan was the eldest son of king Saul of Israel, he was good friends with David, the son of Jesse of Bethlehem.
Jonathan and David were initially rivals for the crown but later they became very close friends. David later became king.
Who were they?
Many think that the theory of David and Jonathan's so called relationship was actually just a mistake in translation. The Hebrew bible which it was translated from, used a word for love that meant among friendship not lovers.

In other news after Jonathan's death David took his 5 year old son and said that he would be the next king. instead
of a heir from saul's lineage

Their Relationship
In the bible it is said that at Jonathan's funeral David states that he 'loved Jonathan more than he loved any woman'. there are many interpretations of David and Jonathan's relationship. some agree that it was completely platonic (or David just had a low regard for women) however others interpret their story to be that of mutual attraction.

The quote:
'My brother Jonathan; You have been very pleasant to me. Your love to me was more wonderful Than the love of women..'
