Wake Me Up When September Ends"

Summer has come and passed

The innocent can never last

wake me up when September ends

like my father's come to pass

seven years has gone so fast

wake me up when September ends

here comes the rain again

falling from the stars

drenched in my pain again

becoming who we are

as my memory rests

but never forgets what I lost

wake me up when September ends

summer has come and passed

the innocent can never last

wake me up when September ends

ring out the bells again

like we did when spring began

wake me up when September ends

here comes the rain again

falling from the stars

drenched in my pain again

becoming who we are

as my memory rests

but never forgets what I lost

wake me up when September ends

Summer has come and passed

wake me up when September ends l poetry project "21 Guns"

Do you know what's worth fighting for?

When it's not worth dying for?

Does it take your breath away and you feel yourself suffocating?

Does the pain weigh out the pride?

And you look for a place to hide?

Did someone break your heart inside, you're in ruins

One, 21 Guns

Lay down your arms

Give up the fight

One, 21 Guns

Throw up your arms into the sky

You and I ...

When you're at the end of the road

And you lost all sense of control

And your thoughts have taken their toll

When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul

Your faith walks on broken glass and the hangover doesn't pass

Nothing's ever built to last, you're in ruins

One, 21 Guns

Lay down your arms

Give up the fight

One, 21 Guns

Throw up your arms into the sky

You and I ...

Did you try to live on your own?

When you burned down the house and home?

Did you stand too close to the fire?

Like a liar looking for forgiveness from a stone

When it's time to live and let die

And you can't get another try

Something inside this heart has died, you're in ruins

One, 21 Guns

Lay down your arms

Give up the fight

One, 21 Guns

Throw up your arms into the sky

One, 21 Guns

Lay down your arms

Give up the fight

Metaphor
this set of lines use the saying "your at the end of the road" implying that there is nowhere to go and the other lines say that you are losing control and you are mad at some one and you are getting ready to go and fight with them (assuming verbally). Writers craft
Imagery
this is describing to peaople in a fight and they are trying to get the other to back down and theres is another Writers craft
metaphor
the line "did some one break
your heart inside,your in ruins"
is when in the fight one of the
fighters is winning and they are starting to stop. Writers craft
Metaphor
the first line reads ,"like a liar looking for forgiveness from a stone " which is saying that someone is really thick. then the last three lines that are highlighted just saying that the two people who were fighting are finally making up. Wish poem
If I had three wishes ...and I
knew they would come true
...I would wish...

That I could have a million
dollars.
That I would have super powers
That I would have unlimited
wishes
"But most importantly I would
wish for a better society

I would wish to be a wealthy ruler

So that i could control what is happening on the earth. Template
