Sprinter Back Ground Information Ben Johnson Ben Johnson was caught using steroids. When he got tested. The results was positive. He got disqualified for cheating and was force to return the Gold medal. He was also got token off from the record books.
Ben finally admitted that he was taking steroids since 1981.
I Have chosen Ben Johnson as a selected leader in sport because, he taught a lot of people that DRUGS
can screw you over and will ruined your dreams. Ben Johnson was born in Jamaica on December 30, 1961. He moved to Canada when he was a teen. Ben Johnson is a Sprinter from Canada. He has met a coach name Charlie Francis. Since then he has became his coach. He was trained for Sprinting and joined a track and field club. Achievements Ben Johnson has worked hard to accomplish to be the the top sprinter in the Olympic Games. He became a member in Canada's delegation in 1984. He has brang home a bronze metal for 100 and the 4x100. In 1986 he receive a bronze metal for 200m.
Ben Johnson became a member in Order of Canada In 1987. In fact, he has won Gold in 100m at the Olympic games. He had also set a new world record of 9.79 seconds. Beating the world record in 1987.
Ben Johnson has earned 450,000 U.S Dollars for its endorsements. He also got a phone call from Brian Mulroney, The Prime Minister of Canada, Congratulating him for his Performance.
