Transcript of Weddings at Ushers Ferry

Ushers Ferry Historic Village Located in beautiful Seminole Valley, Ushers Ferry provides the perfect setting for your special day. Whether you prefer the natural beauty of an outdoor ceremony or a traditional church ceremony, Ushers Ferry is sure to fit everyone's style. The Ushers Ferry Hotel The Historic Village Church The Pavilion The Town Hall The Visitor's Center Although the Historic Village Church is equipped with electricity, the whisper ceiling, an architectural feature of its 1878 construction, makes modern sound systems unnecessary. In addition, you are invited to make use of the Church's piano for the musical portion of your ceremony. Beautiful for smaller ceremonies, it will seat 50 people in pews, and 70 with additional chairs. You may choose, as many others have, to host your reception at Ushers Ferry as well. We offer two great venues including the outdoor covered Pavilion and the indoor Town Hall. The Reception The Ceremony Pre-Wedding Dressing and Staging Houses When you choose to have your wedding here, the happy couple-to-be will have two separate 1900's vintage houses available for pre-wedding dressing and staging purposes. The Pavilion comes equipped with picnic tables for seating up to 120 people. Electricity is available to you inside the Pavilion. The Town Hall has seating for 30 people at five tables with room for a serving table. Electricity, heat, and air conditioning are available to you. Ushers Ferry Historic Village is nestled on ten acres surrounded by lush hills and forest. It is home to 20 historic buildings that depict life in a small Iowa town between the years of 1890 and 1910. When you visit you truly feel as though you have taken a step back in time to a simpler, more romantic era. The charm and uniqueness of the setting is undeniable. The Hotel is typically used for the bridal party.
Both air conditioning and heat are available to you.
The restrooms are easily accessible directly behind the Hotel. Ushers Ferry is easily accessible by exiting Interstate 380 at the 42nd Street Exit. Turn West, past Edgewood Road to Seminole Valley Road and follow the signs from there.
