The Mycenaeans

Started in 2800 B.C.E
They were named after the legendary King Minos.
Lived on the Island of Crete
First people to live in Greece.
Did not live in cities, but lived near palaces.
Loved sports.
produced olives.
traded with one another
similar fashion
similar language
created settlements
Relied on hunting.
Built walls to protect their settlements
a lot like Sparta
fought with stone weapons
worshiped many gods
built their palaces on hilltops
