miller Obesity: a condition in which fatty tissues become full with stored natural energy reserves and become a significant health risk. A person is consiered obese when his weight exceeds 20% over his IDEAL body weight ideal body weight is measured by BODY MASS INDEX (BMI). MEASUREMENTS*** STATISTICS obesity affects over half of all adults across the Unitied States. studies also show that obesity is prominent in 14% of American children. HEALTH RISKS issues other than self image can arise as a result of obesity. obesity has been correlated with diseases such as asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular problems, heart disease, and even cancer. YOu MiGHT NoT KNow.... obesity-related is the second leading cause of death in the United States next to the effects of tobacco. Durkheim's Theory forces conformity THE END Obesity is deviant because it is outside society's norm of how a person should display himself.
