Some controls are the amounts of water and size of beakers. The independent variable was adding salt to the water. The dependent variable was the egg floating in the water. The control group was the beaker with just water. The experimental group was the group with salt water.
GOAL!
Floating Egg Experiment
Purpose
To see if an egg will float in salt water
1. Pour water into a glass until half way full

2. Put in about 8 to 10 tablespoons of salt into water

3. Carefully pour in water until almost full. Make sure you do not mix the salt and water

4. Gently lower egg into mixure

My experiment was a controlled experiment. A controlled experiment id an experiment where everything is the same except for one variable. Everything was the same in my experiment , except that I added salt in one beaker and not in the other.
3).
Some possible errors that could have occured in my experiment are , that when i put the egg in , it could have cracked to prevent this from happening I dropped the egg in after it reached under the halfway mark in the beaker. I also could have added to much salt , and make the egg float at the top of the water , ( not the goal of the experiment).
