Transcript of What is my purpose?

What will i be?
make parents happy
make myself happy
He made me the way I am for a reason
Do I even have a choice?
Your sickness is within you, though you do not realize,
And your cure is within, yet you do not see.
You claim that you are nothing but a tiny entity,
Yet wrapped up inside of you is the greatest universe.
You are the clear book, through whose letters...
All that is secret is revealed and made known.
So you have no need for anything outside of you,
Your consciousness is within you, though you do not know.
What is the difference between purpose and goal
is the REASON we choose the goal
is an end point to achieve
So what is my purpose?

When your Lord said to the angels, ‘Indeed I am going to set a viceroy on the earth,’ they said,
‘Will You set in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we celebrate Your praise and proclaim Your sanctity?’

How to achieve this high level?

Allah's (swt) attributes are His descriptions. He is absolute in all of them, no one can reach His vast existence.
He breathed his spirit into us, so those attributes are in us too. If we align ourselves in such a way, that we love what he loves, and hate what he hates, we achieve alignment and unity with Allah (swt).
The best of the actions is to love for the sake of Allah and to hate for the sake of Allah. Sunan Abu Dawud 40:4582
Its like a computer game / map
Example: The man who travelled and fed a dog.

I worked at a design company to pass the summer time before university.
They loved me and I started working within 2 weeks.
Another company heard about me an started a salary war
maybe there is a future in art after all.
I got the green light
it doesnt mean you abandon your ambitions in life.
hadith of guy who prayed every day, but bro who supported him and his family is considered better in allahs eyes.
Say bismillah before any endevour, waking up or going to sleep. At each time say you are doing it for allah swt, whatever action it may be s long as its good.
Responsibility as a Muslim
٬ثف غخعق
٬
Be the representation of Islam that you wish others to see.
"And remember your Lord within yourself humbly and with awe, below your breath, at morning and evening. And be not you of the neglectful." (7:205)
"Under no circumstance (should you) abandon My remembrance." Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 13, pg. 342
“Whosoever desires this present world, We hasten for him therein what We will unto whomsoever We desire; then We appoint for him the hell wherein he shall roast, condemned and rejected. And whosoever desires the world to come and strives after it as he should, being a believer, those, their striving shall be thanked. Each We succour, these and those, from thy Lord's gift; and thy Lords gift is not confined.” (17:18-20).
"The Muslim believer whose calls were not answered by Allah in this world will wish that none of them would have been accepted when, in the Hereafter, he sees the abundance of rewards (given him for their not being answered and suffering the troubles in the world)." Usul al-Kafi, vol. 2, p. 491
" Call You to Me, I will answer you' (the Qur'an, 4:60).
"He who repents of his sins is as the one who has not any (burden of) sin. Wasa'il-ush-Shi'ah vol. 16, p. 74
"Blessed is he who sincerely devotes the entirety of his actions, knowledge, love, hatred, receiving, relinquishing, speech, silence, deeds, and statements absolutely to Allah." Bihar-ul-Anwar, vol. 77, p. 289
Imam as-Sadiq (‘a) said:
“Be like the flower that gives its fragrance to even the hand that crushes it.”

So what is the purpose of humans?
Be content with everything He does for you.
Try to reach His names. The closer you are to them, you are closer to him.
Hate the things he Hates, Love the things He loves.
Be honest and genuine with yourself and Him.
Intend that your life is for his sake.
If Allah (swt) lives in your heart, your actions will reflect it
"Whoever was content with little sustenance, will be asked for little work (on the day of judgment)."
"Allah is generous and goodness is in his hands. He is ashamed to fail his servant who expects only good of him."
if you dedicate your life to the hereafter, Allah (swt) will fix your life in this world and the next.
You will build a community that serves you and your future better.
Be the change you want to see in your community.
Their potential power reached
Imam Ali
How do you define success?
The freedom of our actions is limited. But we are free to act, and their repercussions can open or close doors and possibilities for our future.
And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam’s loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying): “Am I not your Lord?” They said: “Yes! We testify,” lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: “Verily, we have been unaware of this.” 7.172
Why did Allah swt make me the way I am?
"Verily Allah [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain
and knows what is in the wombs
." [31:34]
Allah swt defined us before we were born
He defined everything about us, not only our looks, but habits, personality, temperament skills and abilities, and future.
…And
We settle in the wombs whom We will
for a specified term…22.5
Based on how fast we replied “bala” in our previous existence / test in the ‘world of atoms’, He defined us, our direction, and roles in life today. Prophet Muhammed (saw) answered the first before everyone.
"So where are you going? It is just a reminder for all the nations, for those of you who wish to walk straight; but you will not wish unless it is wished by Allah, the Lord of all the worlds." 81.27-29

No affliction visits the land or yourselves but it is in a Book before We bring it about—that is indeed easy for Allah—57.22
Our future is predestined by Allah (swt)
“Whoever acts righteously, it is for his own soul, and whoever does evil, it is to its detriment, and your Lord is not tyrannical to the servants.” 41.46
We have Freewill so we define our future
Allah guides whomever He wishes to a straight path. 2.213
This ayat shows both.
So our life is a combination of free will and predestination.
If you do good, you do good to your own selves; and if you do evil, it is likewise to your own selves. 17.7
They offered me a job with a salary that was higher than my mom's who has a Master's and I was just out of high school

Angels
Allah said: 'What prevented you from prostrating, when I commanded you to do so?' He said:
'I am better than he. You created me from fire, and him You created from clay.'
7.12
Certainly We have winnowed out for hell many of the jinn and humans: they have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, they have ears with which they do not hear.
They are like cattle; indeed, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.
7.179
Jinn
‘Indeed I know what you do not know.’

"Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power,
your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you."15.42
Our Potential
Better than Angels and Jinn
Worse than animals
Allah swt in Hadith Qudsi:
Imam Ali (as)
Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa aalih)
Imam Ali (as)
O, Son of Adam! I am Ever-living. I will never die. Act on what I have commanded. Protect yourself from what I have prohibited, so I can make you eternal. O, Son of Adam! I am the king whose kingdom will never perish.

When I say to a thing Be! it becomes. Obey what I have commanded and stay away from those things I have prohibited, to the extent that when you say to a thing Be! it becomes.
whoever knows himself, attains the highest position of knowledge."

"He who knows himself, knows his Lord."
My purpose is to reach my full potential
Buddist, Hindu, and Christians practiced monasticism by separating themselves from society to achieve spiritual peace and enlightenment.
Islam, through Prophet Mohammed (SAW) showed us how to achieve greatness in spirituality and character through living within society
and participating in it.
Align yourself with Allah (swt)
“…I have made him and have breathed into him My spirit…”
15:29
The Prophet (saw) said:
2
Keep His rememberance alive within you.
"Surely in Allah's remembrance do hearts find rest." 13.28
You are ambitious for your after-life, and turn your hopes away from your temporary life.
3
Focused on the eternal-life
"The love of this fleeting world is the origin of all vices."
Al-Kafi, vol. 2, p. 315

My parents' dreams started when I was born...
But, I had other ideas...

I came from a family of engineers. All of them.
In the rare case they were not engineers, they were doctors
I assume my ancestors were engineers too!
Reactions outside the home were better...
Teachers and students would love looking at my work.
Is that a comic book?
It's Zaineb's latest drawings!
Thankfully my drawing ability exempted me from some extra-curricular activities!
You didn't draw those drawings!
Shame on you to lie!
Maths and Science were not my strong point

This guy is such a good artist
Is this the future you want?
My grades were not good enough for my parents...
It didn't help having a genius brother
Please let me be successful
