Transcript of 1920s Cartoons

There were a lot of cartoons that started in the 1920s. 1920s Cartoons Most people have heard of the most famous cartoon created by Walt Disney, the creation of Mickey Mouse. Many people have also heard of the movie he was in, Steamboat Willy. The movie was released in 1928. Walt Disney and his brother created another famous cartoon called Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was created in 1927. He was created before Mickey Mouse was drawn. Walt Disney began by creating a series called Alice's Wonderland. He created this cartoon in 1923. The first film Mickey was in wasn't Steamboat Willie, it was Plane Crazy (1928). Walt Disney was one of the most well known cartoonist in the 1920s. There were other popular cartoonists in the 1920s. Their names were Otto Messmer and Pat Sullivan. Together, they drew a famous cartoon called Felix the Cat. Felix was the first animated animal character to star in his own series. He was in about 150 animated shorts in the 1920s. He was then in a comic strip (1923). Walt Disney then created another cartoon called the Skeleton Dance (1928). There were other cartoonists in the 1920s. Though they weren't as popular as Walt Disney, Pat Sullivan, and Otto Messmer. Most Cartoons were silent cartoons until the creation of machines that enabled the cartoons to have sound. There was another famous cartoon created in the 1920s named Bugs Bunny. Many cartoons were created in the 1920s. Some are still popular today. We have the original creators of these cartoons to thank for that.
