Transcript of Antarctic Animals
I will be your tour guide. You all paid to come and see Antarctica's most beautiful and wonderful animals.
Today we will be seeing 15 different animal species.
I hope you all are wearing the warmest clothes you own as it gets very cold in this icy dessert!
Shhhhhhhh. Over there are some penguins.
There are many different types of penguins.
These include: the Emperors, Kings, Adeline, Chinstraps and Gentoo!
Let us continue on our Arctic Tour!
If we are very fortunate, we may see some seals.
Some of the types of seals are:
Weddell, Southern Fur, Southern Elephant, Crabeater and Leopard Seals!
The Killer whales (these are also called the orca) and Sperm whales.
The only way to see the fish of Antarctica, is to scuba dive. This unfortunately is not part of the tour.
Guess what all these names have in common?
South Polar and Brown Skua. These are the only type of their kind that live in Antarctica!
Antarctic,Imperial and Crozets are a type of bird. But what type?
The Wandering, Gray-headed, Black-browed, Sooty and Light-mantled,are all types of Albatrosses.
They are all Cormorants!
There are two types of whales. These are the Baleen whales!
Northern right whale
Southern right whale
Pygmy right whale
Antarctic blue whale
Pygmy blue whale
These are the only types of toothed whales found in Antarctica!
Hall's Giant Petrel Macronectes halli
Pachyptila vittata Great-winged
These are all types of Petrels.
These are types of Diving petrels.
Unfortunately, there are only 2 types of diving petrels!
These are all of the types of storm petrels that live in Antarctica
These are the only terns that reside in Antarctica!
This is the only Gull that lives in Antarctica!
This also is lonley in Antarctica. it is without any other of it's kind!
This is the only
ducks, geese or swans that live in Antarctica!
