renewable energy= is energy that will never run out no matter how much you use it. It will be replaced in a persons lifespan. Renewable energy is also better for the environment, such as solar.
non renewable energy= is energy that can run out or be used up. These usually come from the ground and will take longer than a human lifespan to replace.
Solar energy is renewable.

There are 3 types of collectors for solar energy. These are; flat-plate collectors, passive collectors and focusing collectors.

These are flat planed with optical devices that help them maximize the radiation that falls on its focus. They are not used often but can produce far greater amounts of energy at a single point than flat-plane collectors. Although they produce a lot of energy, they also lose radiation, were flat-plane collectors do not. Another problem that focusing collectors have is that the silicon components lose their efficiency in hot temperatures and can even get permanently damaged.

monocrystalline silicon panels;
They are the most efficient and most expencive
Polocrystalline silicon panels;
These have a lower silicon level than momocrystalline panels. They are good for roofs and small projects.
Thin film panels;
Because there is little silicon in them they are inexpensive to make and are used mainly for farm projects.
