all Respiratory system breathing When you breathe, carbon dioxide comes out and oxygen comes in. When you breathe, the oxygen goes into the bloodstream and travels to millians of cells in your body. lungs lungs This is the right lung. This is the left lung. The lungs job, are to inhale and exhale oxygen and carbon dioxide. The Digestive System The digestive track includes your mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum and your anus.The liver, gallbladder, pancreas and salivary glands are also part of the digestive track. In chemical digestion, large molecules are broken down into nutrients. Teeth are very important organs for mechanical digestion. Teeth Your teeth break down
your food, so the food
can slide down your
esophagus, or throat, better. Incisors, canine,
premolars and your molars
are different
names for your
teeth As you chew,
the food mixes with
a liquid called saliva. Stomach The stomach squeezes and
mixes food for
hours before it realeses the
mixure into the small
intestine. Blood Vessels Blood travels throughout
your body in hollow tubes
called blood vessels. The three types of blood
vessels-arteries, capillaries,
and veins. Arteries An arterie is a blood vessel that carries blood away from your heart. Arteries have thick walls that contain a layer of smooth muscle. Veins Veins carry blood to the heart. Urinary system Cleaning the Blood As your body performs the
chemical activities that keep
you alive, waste products, such as carbon dioxide and ammonia, are made. Your body gets rid
of these waste products to stay healthy. Water in, Water out You drink water everyday.
You lose water everyday in sweat and urine.
You need to get rid of the water you drink everyday or your body will swell up.
