Transcript of WAKASHAN
The people of the area lived in villages. They made houses out of wooden planks. In the villages they had famous totem poles as well. They had mountains, oceans and forests around them so they had great vegetation. They were located in western British Colombia south Prince Rupert to Vancouver and Vancouver Island (Victoria and Tofino). An interesting fact is that a tiny bit of the tribe was located in the Washington State,USA.
Food was very plentiful in the tribe they were close to oceans so they had tons fish and seafood. They had berries as well they were used as medicine and food for the tribe. They had a lot of food for their tribe. They also ate all of the pacific ocean animals like seal, whale, fish and salmon.
Did you know that the tribe was known for building large canoes and sailing out into the pacific ocean and trying to catch fish, seals and wales to eat as food. Another interesting fact is that when I went to Victoria (BC) was that the city of Victoria is the city and all of the towns around it was all of the small tribes in the region of Victoria so for example (Squamish, Collwood and Micontosh).
I DID THIS TRIBE BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN IN THE AREA THAT THE TRIBE LIVED IN SO BRITISH COLOMBIA AND I VIST THERE TO MY EXTENDED FAMILY EVERY 2 OR SO YEARS AND I REALLY THOUGHT THIS WOULD INTEREST ME AND IT DID.

5. WHY I CHOSE THIS TRIBE
The tribe sort of had politics but they were to busy with all of their jobs for their tribe and they struggled allot with politics. The religion that they practiced was roman catholic like us. They mostly used canoes because they were near the ocean and they used that to go south to go and trade to other tribes.
