Dolly the sheep is the first cloned animal in history on Feb. 23. 2002 2007 I was born. :) I grew my first tooth. 1998 December 1 – Exxon announces a US$73.7 billion deal to buy Mobil, thus creating Exxon-Mobil, the second-largest company on the planet by revenue.
May 28th - Nuclear testing: Pakistan responds to a series of Indian nuclear tests with five of its own, prompting the United States, Japan, and other nations to impose economic sanctions. 1999 I visited Sea World & went to daycare. January 21 – Basically one of the largest drug busts in American history, the United States Coast Guard intercepts a ship with over 4,300 kg of cocaine aboard, headed for Houston, Texas.
February 12 – President Bill Clinton is tried for immoral behavior to be impeached, but is aquitted by the Senate.
Dec 31st - Control of Panama Canal reverts to Panama 2000 2001 I took swimming lessons. February 13 – The last original Peanuts comic strip is published, following the death of its creator, Charles Schulz.
November 7 – United States presidential election, 2000: Republican candidate Texas Governor George W. Bush defeats Democratic Vice President Al Gore in the closest election in history, but the final outcome is not known for over a month because of disputed votes in Florida. I met my new born sister, April 23rd. January 1 – A black monolith measuring 270 cm (8.9 ft) tall appears in Seattle's Magnuson Park, placed by an anonymous artist in reference to the monolith from the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
November 13 – In the first act since World War II, U.S. President George W. Bush signs an executive order allowing military tribunals against any foreigners suspected of having connections to terrorist acts or planned acts against the United States. I visited Washington D.C. for the 1st time.
February 8–February 24 – The Winter Olympics are held in Salt Lake City, Utah. The U.S. wins 10 gold, 13 silver and 11 bronze medals.
November 25 – U.S. President George W. Bush signs the Homeland Security Act into law, establishing the Department of Homeland Security, in the largest U.S. government reorganization since the creation of the Department of Defense in 1947. (In retaliation of 9/11 Twin Tower terrorist attacks) 2003 I took a cruise for my grandmother's birthday.
April 9 – Iraq War: U.S. forces seize control of Baghdad, ending the regime of Saddam Hussein.
May 28 – President George W. Bush authorizes $350 billion worth of tax cuts over 10 years.
February 1 – STS-107: Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrates over Texas upon re-entry, killing all 7 astronauts on board.
Apr 14th - The Human Genome Project is completed with 99% of the human genome sequenced to an accuracy of 99.99%. 2004 I learned how to ride my bike.
February 29–The 76th Academy Awards, hosted by Billy Crystal, are held at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, California, with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King directed by Peter Jackson, winning a record-tying 11 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.
August 13–August 29 – The United States compete at the Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, and win 36 gold, 39 silver and 27 bronze medals. 2005 I joined Cub Scouts as a Tiger.
Feb 15th - YouTube, the popular Internet site on which videos may be shared and viewed by others, is launched in the United States.
February 10 – North Korea announces that it possesses nuclear weapons as a protection against the hostility it feels from the United States.
The Xbox 360 was released on November 22, 2005. 2006 I played on a Little League Soccer team.
January 5–The Bush administration proposes spending $114 million on educational programs to expand the teaching of Arabic, Chinese, Persian and other languages usually not taught in public schools.
August 24–The International Astronomical Union (IAU) redefines the term "planet", so that Pluto is considered a Dwarf Planet.
December 7 – Smoking is banned in all Ohio bars, restaurants, workplaces, and other public places. I joined the Swim Team, the Barracudas.
January 10 – President Bush announces a plan to station 21,500 additional troops in Iraq.
January 30 – Microsoft releases Windows Vista and Office 2007 2008 I started playing trumpet.
February 5–6 – Super Tuesday tornado outbreak: A tornado outbreak, the deadliest in 23 years, kills 58 in the Southern United States, also affecting southern parts of Northern United States.
October 29 – Delta Air Lines merges with Northwest Airlines, forming the world's largest commercial carrier.
Nov 4-Barack Obama becomes the first African-American to be elected President of the United States. 2009 I joined Boy Scouts, after completing my Arrow of Light ceremony.
February 1 – The Pittsburgh Steelers win their sixth Super Bowl, defeating the Arizona Cardinals, 27-23.
Minecraft is publicly released for the PC on May 17, 2009.
Dec 11-Tiger Woods announced an indefinite leave from professional golf to focus on his marriage. 2010 I joined the middle school Jazz band.
February 8 – The 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America.
April 20, 2010-The BP oil spill begins and continues until it is stopped for the first time in August 4th. Over 4.9 million barrels were dumped into the Gulf.
Jan 4th - The Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, is opened.
2011 2012 I visited New York for the first time. It was almost before New Years!
May 1 – President of the United States Barack Obama declared in a media statement that Osama bin Laden, the founder and leader of the militant Islamist group Al-Qaeda and the most-wanted fugitive on the US list, was killed during an American military operation in Pakistan and that his body is in U.S. custody.
December 18 – The last American troops are withdrawn from Iraq, ending the Iraq War. I joined Marching Band and became a Freshman in High school.
July 27 – August 12 – The 2012 Summer Olympics are held in London, England, United Kingdom.
Dec 21st Gangnam Style reaches 1 billion views.
November 6 – 2012 elections Barack Obama is reelected President of the United States, defeating Republican nominee Mitt Romney. This was the first
presidential election I actively
followed. My parents voted for Bill
Clinton, and they were severely
disappointed in his conduct. My parents had voted for Al
Gore, and paid close attention to the polls after the Florida incident. This end of the Iraq war signified the 1st ending of a war that I've been alive to witness. The 100th Anniversary of Scouting marked an important year, for Scouting and my experience in Scouting. Minecraft was one of my favorite games when it came out, and remains to be one of my favorites. I have met many friends with Minecraft, and they are some of the best friends I have. The Super Tuesday tornado outbreak
was the first time me and my parents went to hide in the basement for fear of a tornado strike. We devised a family plan, and then we were prepared for an emergency. Windows Vista was the program I grew
up with, I've had it since I was able to
type. I've recently replaced it with
a newer model, but it will still be my
first OS. (Operating System) The smoking ban in Ohio has helped me a great deal since I have Asthma. I have used Youtube so many times, too many to even fathom. It has affected my life so greatly with it's all around media, knowledge, and accessibility. If you're reading this, then I really didn't like this project. Saddam Hussein was the first dictator that I've been alive to see overthrown. I wasn't told much of him at the time, but I knew he was a bad man. My first Olympics that I've ever watched occurred this year. Also, one of my all time favorite movies got the recognition it deserves. ExxonMobil's merge meant higher gas and oil prices for everybody, including my family. My parents were
learn the news of
death. My parents shielded me from learning of the 9/11 events, because they wanted to protect me from the awful tragedy. The Homeland Security Act brought many defensive measures into effect, making our nation much safer for everyone.
