The Maze Runner Trilogy by James Dashner

World In Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department
They established themselves after the Solar Flares ravished Earth, leaving unstable societies and crumbling governments. The last of the governments thought to get together to try and find a solution to save mankind.
The Maze Runner
The Maze Runner is first book in the trilogy; it is told in third person limited, so you learn things as the main character,Thomas, learns.
As Thomas wakes up in the Box and meets and establishes a place among the Gladers-the other boys- he learns that the only way to get out, is to please WICKED. Throughout the book you watch as Thomas, Minho, Chuck, Teresa and other Gladers figure out a way to escape the Maze and 'face' WICKED once and for all.
The Scorch Trials
The second book in the action-packed trilogy; we saw that at the end of the Maze Runner, Thomas and the other Gladers finally escape, only to run into the mercy of WICKED. They escape with the help of some randoms and in the beginning of Scorch Trials, we see the Gladers resting with in the provided space from the 'rescuers'. Of course everything has to go downhill from there. So they find out that the 'rescuers' were just hired by WICKED and that they are about to enter the second Trial of the experiments; The Scorch Trials. They are to walk across the Scorch in under 2 weeks in order to get the cure for the Flare.
The Death Cure
The astonishing finale to the suspenseful trilogy. The time for lies is over. The groups from the Trials can finally go about their business. WRONG. WICKED thought they had all down pat, but no, Thomas remembers more than they thought he did and he knows that they are nowhere near finding the truth and he can't listen to WICKED. But the question is... how will they survive the Death Cure?
The Maze Runner Movie
But, this is not the end for The Maze Runner series. Oh no. Not only did James Dashner write a really random prequel that tells you what Earth was like right after the Solar Flares, but they are gonna be making a movie!
In about 2038, random and unpredictable Solar Flares from the Sun ravaged the Earth. They created disastrous results;all areas along the Tropics and Equator became a barren wasteland called The Scorch and exposed a terminal neuro-virus to the human race called, The Flare.
The Experiments
In order to try and rebuild man kind from this catastrophe, they took some the smartest children, of both genders, who were already exposed to The Flare and used them to try and find a cure for the deadly disease. The ranged from the ages of 12-17 and had no memory of their previous lives or family. They were given a different name to represent them; it would be based upon someone who had contributed to society in past history. *Sob Sob Sob*
The Trials
They performed several different trials on said children. The first Trial was called The Maze, the second the Scorch Trials and a last trial that unique depending on the person.
