Evaluation is a process that critically examines a program. It involves collecting and analyzing information about a program’s activities, characteristics, and outcomes.
Evaluation catrgorized into two:
Strategic control
It should be sound.
Strategic control
It should be action - oriented.
Strategic control
It should neither be too costly nor too cheap.
Strategic control
It should project a true picture of what is really happening in the company subject to environmental conditions.
A good strategic evaluation possesses several qualities.

A Accurate and Technically Adequte Information
L Leads to Continous Learning and Improvement
U Uses Participatory Methods
A Affordable/Appropriate in Terms of Budget
T Technical Persons Carry it Out/Timely Carried Out

N Never Used for Fixing Blame and Finding Faults
Why should evaluate the program
Improve program design and implementation.
Demonstrate program impact.
What type of evaluation should be conducted and when
Evaluations fall into one of two broad categories.
What makes a good evaluation
A well-planned and carefully executed evaluation will reap more benefits for all stakeholders than an evaluation that is thrown together hastily and retrospectively.
Evaluation should be in consonance with the firm's objective.
Company has at least a monthly control.
Formative evaluations are conducted during program development and implementation and are useful if you want direction on how to best achieve your goals or improve your program.
Summative evaluations should be completed once your programs are well established and will tell you to what extent the program is achieving its goals.
Work with the goal of the company objectives and not dominate decisions.
To be familiar with the external environments as well.
