THE GREAT GATSBY F. SCOTT FITZGERALD Money has the connotation for providing happiness, joy, and fulfillment when in many cases, it can cause sadness and tragedy. Money can present a person with conveniences and luxuries, but it does not ameliorate all of the problems in life. F. Scott Fitzgerald reveals this concept in The Great Gatsby, through the various themes portrayed in his story. Money can't buy you happiness
but it does bring you a more
pleasant form of misery.

in order to be loved or
find love, he must
create his own wealth.

Daisy thinks she can use people for her own personal gain
Money is the one thing they have in common, yet it tears them apart. "I wouldn't ask too much of her." I ventured. "You can't repeat
the past."
"Can't repeat the past ?" he cried incredulously. "Why of course
you can...I'm going to fix everything just the way it was before,"
he said, nodding determinedly. "She'll see." (110) Money can fix mistakes and
help solve problems
of the past. And so...
everyone walked away Jay Gatz So What? Can only be acquired through wealth and material things Money Divides different groups of people against each other. Money provides company but that does not mean that they will stick around. In order to find/win love one must have wealth Money can solve problems of the past. The "good life" consists of money and material things Money is connected to everything
