In 2008 two whales were given an autopsy. The autopsy showed that they had numerous amounts of fishing nets, an other synthetics in their stomach. Ocean Soup is the name given to an area in the ocean that is littered with plastics.
Currently there is an estimated 315 billion pounds of plastic in the ocean. Ocean Soup is mostly full of micro plastics.
Plastics that are less than 5 millimeters in size.
One fifth of the plastics come from ships. Is an area in the North Pacific that is twice the size of the United States.
Consists of 48 parts of plastic for every part of plankton.
Was discovered by Charles J. Moore in 1977 OCEAN SOUP A large percentage of the plastic we use end up in the seas.
Most people are not aware about how harmful the plastics are harming our environment and animals Our Proposal We can not clean up the ocean because of many reasons. The ocean soup area is huge.
Roughly 15 million square kilometers large and keeps growing.

And last ocean soup contains microscopic marine life. The Costs The costs to clean up the ocean would be around 122-489 dollars a year.
Cleaning the ocean won't cut it because the ocean is vast.
The plastics and other debris in the ocean have decomposed leaving tiny microscopic pieces of plastic in the ocean. The Beaches With beach erosion, too much garbage is put into the ocean.
The waves crashing onto shore are washing the plastics into the ocean. Recycling Number one benefit of recycling is that it saves space in the landfills.
Landfills have to be be placed in a restricted area away from the wetlands or food plains. It takes up to 15 years for a newspaper to decompose.
They do not decompose because landfills are sealed from air and water. Recycling can save energy because it reduces the needs of natural resources.
Natural resources vary from water, plants, land, and minerals.
Recycling this uses 95% less energy rather than starting fresh. Steps gather all proper recycling material.
