Causes of the American Revolution After the French and Indian war the crown
decided it was neccesary to tax the colonist
not only to cover the expense of the war but also
to cover the cost of protecting the colonist in the new world. The New taxes angered many of colonist because they
were not represented in Parliament and therfore had no say.
However this did not stop King George or Parliament "No taxation without representation" Taxes and Acts

This law placed a tax on sugar
