Transcript of Holy Spirit in God's Plan

The Holy Spirit in God's Plan
Pentecost!
Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
If the Holy Spirit belongs in the Trinity...
The Holy Spirit is God.
The Holy Spirit is never separate
from God the Father & God the Son.
The Holy Spirit is not
God the Father
or God the Son.
God's
Who God Is
What God Does
Creation
Gen. 1: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
"Much remains opaque. What is of interest is that the activity of the divine ruach is precisely that of extending God's presence into creation in such a way as to order and complete what has been planned in the mind of God. That is exactly the role the spirit characteristically fulfills elsewhere in Scripture." -Sinclair Ferguson
The name “Christ” implies him who anoints, him who has been anointed, and the unction with which he is anointed. He who anoints is the Father, and the Son has been anointed in the Spirit, which is the unction; as the Word said through Isaiah, “The Spirit of God is upon me, because he anointed me,” signifying the Father as anointing, the Son as anointed, and the unction which is the Spirit.”

--Irenaeus of Lyons, Against Heresies Book III
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you." --John 14:16-17
Jesus seated at the Father's right hand,
bearing our humanity forever!
The Holy Spirit poured out on all flesh, dwelling in humanity as in a temple!
"God with us"
John 7:38-9 “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified."
The End-Times Spirit: Revelation 22
“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”
17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price."
