1. Culture is learned.
- It is not instinctive.
- taught largely by precept.
2. Culture is social.
- group product
- developed through social interaction.
- It is due to man’s natural tendency of sociability and gregariousness.

4. Culture is cumulative
- The new cultural skills and knowledge are added onto what was learned in previous generations
5. Culture is dynamic.
- Culture is always changing because new ideas and new techniques are added and old ways are constantly being modified or discarded.
6. Culture is adaptive.
- Each generation and individuals adjust.

7. Culture is diverse.
- The sum total of human culture consists of a great many separate cultures, each of them is different.

9. Culture fulfills some needs.
- Culture is created and maintained because of different needs.

- Elements or traits -> adjusted to or consistent with one another.
- Culture tends to be integrated because:
1. It is generally adaptive.

- Man transmits culture by means of ideas.
- It is easier for you to relate to someone who has shared value systems and ways of doing things than someone who does not share the same values.

8. Culture is a whole.
- cultural aspects -> inter-connected with each other.
- A system with many mutually interdependent parts

It works as guidelines that must be followed by members to gain social acceptance from the people with the same culture.
11. Culture gives us a range of permissible behavior patterns.
It provides us with the norms of appropriate behavioral patterns.
