SCOPE AND OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
Four way hacksaw machine is very effective for small scale industry because it’s manufacturing cost is very less.
It cut four work piece at one time in same power as compare to power hack saw, therefore the cutting cost are reduces therefore overall production cost is reduced.

CONCEPT OF MULTI WAY HACK SAW MACHINE
Objectives of Project:-
To increase in productivity.
To reduce excessive material movement.
To reduce the processing time.
To improve working condition.


INTRODUCTION
There are many industrial applications where round
bar or square bars are required to be operated on
different machines to make machine components
such as Shafts, Bolts, Screws etc.

This needs more and more number of pieces to be
cut for mass production of those components.
To achieve this goal the Multi-way hacksaw machine
PROBLEMS IN CONVENTIONAL HACKSAW MACHINE
In present situation electrical as well as hydraulic operated machines are used but the output from them is not satisfactory as it has low cutting rate.
conventional hacksaw machines which can cut single piece at a time.
High power consumption over single cutting
THE BASIC COMPONENTS OF MULTI WAY HACKSAW MACHINE ARE
Motor (1440RPM)
Motor is a standard component 50 watt power, speed 0 to 6000 variable speed. Motor carries the motor pulley connected to the input worm shaft pulley by means of an open belt drive
Main Spindle
Main spindle is held in ball bearing in gear box housing. On main spindle mount the rotating plate on which supporting rod is mounted.


Worm and worm wheel
Worm and worm wheel arrangement is used as the reduction gear box arrangement. Worm is 1.5 module single start right hand worm where as the worm wheel is 1.5 module 38 teeth gear.

Frame
The frame of the saw supports and carries the hacksaw blade. The machine is designed so that the saw blade contacts the work only on the cutting stroke. This action prevents unnecessary wear on the saw blade. The cutting stroke is on the forward or backward stroke.

Gear Box Housing
Housing of gear box(worm arm warm type) is made up of cast iron . It is finishing by surface milling ,then after it is hardening and grinding.

Hacksaw blade
The four hacksaw blades are used in the machine . Hacksaw blades are generally made up of carbon steel or high speed steel.


Vices
For work piece holding we are used four body vice. That hold the work piece up to the 50mm width. Holding purpose 4 vices are used

COST ESTIMATION
Old Method :-
Machine Cuts 1 piece at a time
Cutting cost = 3Rs per piece
Transportation Cost = 2Rs per piece
Total Cost = Cutting cost +Transportation Cost
= 5Rs per piece

New Method :-
Machine Cuts Four pieces at a time ,
Cutting Cost = 8Rs for four pieces (Including Labour, Electricity& Machine Cost)
For one piece Cutting Cost = 8/4 = 2Rs Per Piece

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Four-Way Hacksaw Machine Having Following Observations:
High speed machine for fast and bulk cutting.
Increasing production rate of cutting.
Less time required for production
Labor cost reduced.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES
Advantages
This machine is intervention of labor is reduced to maximum level.
It increase the rate of machining processes.
At the time 4 different material cut.
Only one operator handle all process.

Disadvantages
Machine space required to install in more.
Machine required perfect handling to whole system.
More Vibrations due to deflection of Hacksaw.


CONCLUSION AND FUTURE SCOPE
Conclusion
The existing hacksaw machine have been studied and thus with new design and fabrication, very economical four-way hacksaw machine has been successfully developed
Testing and performance of the machine is up to the mark which satisfy the objectives.
After testing these four way hacksaw machine increase the production rate as compare to existing hacksaw machine.
It reduces the labor cost and labor efforts.

Future Scope
To decrease the weight of machine, aluminum alloy can be used instead of low carbon steel.
To increasing accuracy of machine we can used hydraulic piston cylinder.
In this project we have demonstrated four-way hacksaw machine, but by increasing the capacity of motor as well as using of power hacksaw machine, production rate can be increase significantly.
