By: Fiona, Sindy, Kenzie, Bianca Coefficient:

a constant number that serves as a measure of some property

Squaqre Root:

a square is the multiple of a number multiplied by itself, so a square root is that number divided by itself. Rate:

Ratio that compares two different kinds of numbers such as miles per hour Proportions:

The equality of two ratios. Range:

The difference between the greatest and the least values in a set of data Function:

a mathematical relation such that each element of a given set (the domain of a function) is associated with an element of another set (the range of a function) 3x + 4

Diagonal

Definition of Diagonal

•Diagonal is a line segment connecting two non-adjacent vertices of a polygon.

Examples of Diagonal

•In the example shown, AC is a diagonal.

More about Diagonal

•The number of diagonals of a polygon of n sides can be found using the formula .

Solved Example on Diagonal

Justin walked along the diagonal of a square garden of side 20 ft. How far did he walk?

Choices:

A. 29.40 ft

B. 28.40 ft

C. 27.16 ft

D. 28.28 ft

Correct Answer: D

Solution:

Step 1: Side length of the square field is s = 20 ft.

Step 2: Distance that Justin walked = Length of the diagonal of the square field = = 28.28 ft.

•A Box-and-Whisker Plot shows the distribution of a set of data along a number line, dividing the data into four parts using the median and quartiles. Thanks for watching! :D
