Transcript of America!
America! (• 3 •)
A cultural melting pot.
Food and candy
When you're in San Diego, you've got to eat at In-n-Out. Once you've eaten there, you'll never want to go back to McDonalds!
In San Diego, there are a variety of restaurants that serve different kinds of foods like: Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, and more! There are many Asian restaurants around too.
Japanese candy has been a popular item. One example is the green tea KitKat, strawberry KitKat, and also the green tea Pocky. These items used to be sold in stores far from us, but now people can walk to most stores and buy them.
There are many sports that Americans play: baseball, basketball, track and field. There's one sport in particular that most people in Japan know little of, but in America most people do. The sport Football, American Football.
Music in America is very diverse and tends to explore many different genres such as: Rock, R&B, Hip-Pop, and etc.
The first field of American music was the singing of the colonial New England choirs, and traveling singing masters like William Billings.
In the middle of the 1960s, female soul singers like Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross were popular, while innovative performers like James Brown invented a new style of soul called funk.
Early punks believed that hollow greed had destroyed American music, and hated the perceived arrogance of the biggest bands of the 1970s.
AKA Queen Bey, AKA the greatest entertainer of our generation

Changes throughout the years early 1950s it was frequently applied to blues records. Starting in the mid-1950s, after this style of music contributed to the development of rock and roll
Contemporary R&B, also known as simply R&B, is a music genre that combines elements of rhythm and blues, soul, funk, pop, hip hop and dance.

Fall Rally South
Meet new people
Also called Rap music
Usually song lyrics are chanted instead of being sung
The four key elements hip hop are MCing (rapping), DJing ( scratching), break dancing, and graffiti writing.
One of the first hip hop records was The Sugarhill gang's " Rapper's delight"
Even though hip hop is a genre of music itself there are many sub-genres (Ex: New school rap, Gangsta rap, and even mainstream hip hop)
Many raps are very expressive but they tend to contain profanity as well.
Originated around 1950s in the United States
The sound of rock is traditionally centered on the electric guitar, which emerged in its modern form in the 1950s with the popularization of rock and roll.
Many different sub-groups like country rock, alternative rock, psychedelic rock, and more
Alternative rock was coined in the early 1980s to describe rock artists who did not fit into the mainstream genres of the time.
In the past and now there are many foreign influences in our music and many foreign songs that influence our culture
Top 5 songs that have affected us : Gangnam Style -Psy (South Korea), Dragosteia din tei- O-Zone (Romania) also known as the numa numa, Jai Ho - A.R. Rahman ( India), 99 Luftballons - Nena (Germany), and Ue O Muite Aruk? - Kyu Sakamoto ( Japan).
Just like how America influences other countries and their music ( Ex: Michael Jackson, Whitney Huston, Lady Gaga, and many others )
Many influnences from the UK
In the last decade Japanese pop swept through America and there was a giant craze but now the attention has turned more towards South Korean pop.
Let's do a cheer together!

Pop music (a term that originally derives from an abbreviation of "popular") is a genre of popular music, which originated in its modern form in the 1950s, deriving from rock and roll.
British/Eurpean music industries, whose influence has made pop music something of an international monoculture
Almost every country has their form of Pop music, such as Japan
That's me! ^-^
